I often don’t like talking about dreams just because I’m terrible at explaining something that I believe to be next to impossible to explain or because in return, I don’t like hearing other people talk about their dreams.
Last night’s dream, though, struck me as something odd. Something zen. Something I’d never felt before and that was a quiet place where eternal peace of mind and infinite discovery existed.
I remember walking through this canyon with different palettes of blue consisting of aqua, purple, etc. The rocks were asymmetrical and everything just seemed askew. The tops of the canyons felt almost near the sky.
I decided to walk a path to the top of these rocks. It was like hiking almost, except, this path kept going up and down. The only direction was up but the path had no pattern. On minute, I’d find myself in what seemed to be an endless stretch of marble-floor, and the next, I’d find myself in a path that seemed to go down but ultimately went back up.
Finally, I ended up at the top.
If you can follow, I commend you. If not, trust me, it’s a bit confusing to explain.
The top was marvelous and on top of this purple, blue, silver, rock, there was this building. It seemed like a Japanese Imperial-era building. Leading to its entrance were a large amount of red gates.
I entered this building with its huge doors. Strangely enough, the door handles were within my reach despite the massive height of these doors.
Inside this building was a huge room.
And this room was full of mirrors. (Think: a gym.)
The floors were flooded with about two feet of water. However, when I walked through the water, I wasn’t wet.
There were many people around me. Each of them doing their own thing. The only image I can recall was a sword sparring between two Japanese samurai and an adult female reading a book in a lawn chair.
For some reason, though, I decided to sit on top of this rock with a perfectly flat round top. It was a rock about seven feet, so I had to climb it a little. I sat on top of this rock and crossed my legs in meditation position.
I looked at myself from across a mirror and began to meditate.
And the dream ended.
I don’t know what this dream signified or what or meant or why I even dreamed it, but someday, I’d like to revisit this place because at that moment, I knew how zen felt.
